I ask for payment at the time of service unless there are extenuating circumstances and we have negotiated a different arrangement. Except in emergency situations, I ask for full payment if you do not keep your appointment and have not given me advance notice, preferably the day before we are scheduled to meet.
Insurance: I accept University of Illinois student health insurance; after you pay your deductible, your co-pay is due at the time of service (approximately $30), and I bill your insurance for the outstanding balance. I am also an in-network provider for some Health Alliance and Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans.
For other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider at the present time. If I have another insurance plan, you will be asked to pay the full session fee at the time of service, and I will then assist you in getting reimbursement from your insurance company.
If you would like to use your insurance benefits for therapy, please contact your insurance company prior to our initial consult, and ask the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for individual therapy?
Is there a deductible that I have to meet before I start receiving insurance benefits to see my out-of-network therapist?
After the deductible is met, how much of the session fee will my insurance cover? What is my co-pay?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions insurance will pay for?
Does my plan cover Telehealth sessions?
Is pre-authorization required?
If there is financial hardship and/or your insurance company does not provide any coverage for out-of-network providers, I offer a discounted rate to a limited number of clients, and you may be eligible if such a slot is available. This is something that we can discuss in our no-cost, 30-minute initial consultation.
